Vendimia: The Wine and Pisco Festival

The Vendimia International Festival has been celebrated since 1958, its main purpose being to promote the wine culture, concentrated in the southern region of Peru.

The vineyards are a very important part of the economy in the southern cities of Ica and Pisco, and help boost financial growth in the area. Peru is known worldwide for its pisco and wine, and is one of the most important wine producers in Latin America.

Vendimia in Cusco

Cusco is known for its great coffee and for its tasty cheese (queso serrano), but in order to promote the Pisco culture amongst locals and tourists, this year the Museum of Pisco will celebrate the “Vendimia”.

Different Pisco Bodegas will get together, offering sampling and tasting, with brands like Tres Generaciones (Ica), 4 Fundos, (San Antonio), Torre de la Gala (La Joya- Arequipa) and Pisco Portón being just a few of the guests that will be part of this event.

Lima Norte

The International Vendimia Festival is celebrated every year in Ica. As part of a yearly tradition, the festival is celebrated to unify art and the wine culture. Live music, shows, and even a beauty pageant are held during this 2 day celebration.

Vendimia - Tour Ica Winery

This festival allows all visitors to take a tour around the most important vineyards in Ica. There are also bartending contests and culinary fairs as part of this big event. La Reina del Festival (Festival Queen), is a beauty pageant which is a typical part of any Vendimia event.

Starting with La Pisa de Uvas (grape stomping), this is followed by a great parade, before the winner is finally chosen after a short walk down the runway.
