• Cahuachi means “place where the seers lives”.
• The site had an existence of over eight centuries, from around 400 BC to 400 AD.
• The most important attractions are “The Great Pyramid”, where the elite used to live, and “The Great Temple”.
• Only embroidered textiles were know at the time, however, archaeologists discovered a deposit of 200 textile works at “The Great Pyramid”, most of which where hand-painted, a truly strangeness.

The Cahuachi Pyramids are located in the Nazca desert, a culturally rich town just a few hours south of Lima.

You have 2 options to get to Nazca:

There are many public bus companies operating the Lima to Nazca route. The only problem is the headache you will have trying to compare prices and after you choose one, having to find the company’s terminal since there is no central bus terminal.

If I am in Huacachina and want to go to Arequipa, can I still do the tour in one day?

Indeed you can. Taking the private shuttle from Huacachina allows you to get early in Nazca, take the Cahuachi Pyramid tour at 3:00 pm and then get on the Peru Hop bus to continue your journey to Arequipa. If you want to take the 8:00 am tour, at least one night in Nazca is mandatory.
